The first everblooming annual sunflower
Yellow sunflowers, aptly named ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ for their reddish brown ring around their pollen. Even their foliage is a gorgeous rich green. This variety of sunflowers do not produce seeds. These sunflowers do not grow as tall as others commonly up to 60cm tall and will not grow higher than a metre. However, compared to other sunflowers, Sunbelievable ‘Brown Eyed Girl’ will flower endlessly for months. To get this sunflower that once recorded up to 1000 flowers produced on just one single plant during May-November, it took 10,000 attempts and eight years of breeding work.
Planting Tip
As with other sunflowers this one looks great at the back of a border but important to remember it won’t grow as high as a traditional sunflower.
